Farming has long been a key part of New Zealand’s economy, but the sector faces unprecedented challenges from regulation and compliance demands that are costly, time consuming and unpredictable. For the farming sector to deliver continued productivity improvement and economic growth, farmers need a way to address these compliance challenges without being distracted from what they do best – farming. Precision can help farmers by providing affordable, automated tools that help them protect and manage their own farm data, while linking it with and drawing in 3rd party data where they need it.

Precision tools are built for the farmer, spanning every step from tractor to regulator, giving farmers control over their own data as well as the ability to meet the regulator’s requirements with more confidence and less pain. The next 5 years is a critical period for New Zealand farmers to rise to the regulatory challenge or be buried by it. Precision is ideally positioned to deliver a vital part of the solution, helping farmers create intergenerational value from their land, and helping New Zealand by building a resilient and productive farming sector.

We are looking for farmers who want to join us in achieving our mission of making life on the farm simpler.

FARMERS ARE FIGHTING TO
MEET AN EVER-EVOLVING SET OF COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS. PRECISION CAN HELP THEM.

WHY PRECISION ?

A number of companies have set out to solve the farm data challenge but most have stumbled or failed; why is Precision any different?

  • The focus was on data transfer from A to B, not the accuracy or quality of data

  • The ownership or controlling interest in the ventures often lead to invisible politics and barriers to connectivity

  • How the data was entered/originated was often overlooked and left farmers with impractical time consuming entry requirements

  • The scope of what ‘farm data’ was deemed valuable was inconsistent

  • There was not a long term view of who the ultimate paying customer & owner of the data was

  • A lot of the solutions serve the co-op, producer or industry body not the farmer

As a result of these challenges no major progress has been made to effectively capture, verify and share POA data.

We are confident in our success if we continue to follow these core principles;

  • Solutions will be built to work for the farmer first, as the ultimate paying customer of all data created and shared

  • We will leverage strong relationships while remaining neutral in partnerships and ventures, and remain a trusted independent partner of farmers

  • Our solutions will aim to automate data creation and significantly remove the administrative burden on farm

  • We will retain a tight focus on Proof of Application data allowing us to be the experts in this area

  • We will reduce the cost of transferring data and instead focus on generating value when data is transformed and improved

We believe the only way to overcome the challenges for farmers is to work with them in partnership and continuously demonstrate value. Precision has a proven track record in POA, a head start on connectivity and strong leadership.
